Workshop: Introduction to Using a Serger
Sunday, June 23rd, 1-4pm
This is a 3 hour introductory class on how to use a serger. Maria-Teresa Pena will go over a variety of topics that will help you understand how to thread it, basic maintenance and cleaning, how to make a hem, how to finish an inside seam, and how to work with stretch and woven materials. We will learn what best to use a serger for rather than a sewing machine, and try out different types of stitches and tensions.
The total price for the workshop is $40 (Our online store format does not allow us to turn off sales tax for individual listings, so we have to take off the automatically added tax for the listing price). Supplies are not included in the price of the course. You are responsible for bringing your own serger and supplies. Please make sure your serger is in working order, since we do not have machines for rent.
Please read the full description and confirm the dates before signing up for the course. In the event that you must cancel, we accept cancellations up to 5 business days before the start date of the class and you will receive a refund of 90% of the price of the class. After this time, you forfeit the cost of the class.
You will receive an email with further instructions and a list of needed supplies from the teacher at least 4 days prior to the beginning of the course. The email will be sent to the address associated with your PayPal account.
