Course Objective: To create a collaborative environment where diverse minds can successfully learn how to compromise, delegate, and function as a unified team to reach an objective.
In this unique 3-day class workshop, students will gain invaluable tools and training to aid them in any professional future endeavor that requires them to work in a small group/team. By surveying topics such as interaction styles, effective communication techniques, and how to compromise, students will be expected to prove their proficiency in a group project setting.
*This class requires students have their own laptop or tablet that they can bring in for specific class demos.
*Each student will receive a class supply list that will not be added to the total price of the course. Students will be required to purchase these supplies in order to complete certain class expectations.
*This class requests that students have basic experience in sewing/garment construction and are able to effectively render their fashion ideas on paper in fashion sketching style. Having completed our Beginners Sewing course will benefit students for the group project, however is not required.
***1 week course, meeting 3 times for 2.5 hours each class. Total course cost is $75.00.

The total price for the course is $75 (Our online store format does not allow us to turn off sales tax for individual listings, so we have to take off the automatically added tax for the listing price). Also, supplies are not included in the price of the course. You are responsible for bringing your own sewing machine and supplies.

In the event that you must cancel, we accept cancellations up to one week before the start date of the class and you will receive a refund of 70% of the price of the course. After this time, you forfeit the cost of the class.
Once payment is accepted, you will receive an email with further instructions before the beginning of the course. Also your instructor will send you a list of needed supplies at least 5 days prior to the beginning of the course. The email will be sent to the address associated with your PayPal account.
Roy Blake Smith is a local fashion designer with an affinity for the creative arts. Hailing from Athens, Ga., Blake studied at SCAD: The University for Creative Careers where he cultivated his craft, won multiple design scholarships, and received his bachelor’s in Fashion Design. The day after graduation, Blake moved to NYC to begin an internship with Kohl’s on the Lauren Conrad brand. Throughout the next 5 years, he worked his way up to a management position and had the opportunity to drive sales and create unique product for multiple brands such as Princess Vera Wang, Candie’s, and Dana Buchman. During his time at Kohl’s, Blake was selected to be one of 15 designers to compete on Lifetime’s Project Runway: Under the Gunn where he ranked top 5 and met many amazing designers/industry influencers along the way. After a brief Designer role for southern corporation Belk, Blake decide to return to Athens to focus his creative energy on starting his own brand - and to use his retail knowledge to help others find their voice in the fashion industry.
