Beginners Sewing Course
August 30 - September 20, 2018
Thursdays, 6:30 - 9:00 pm
This is a 4-week introductory sewing course. Students will learn to be proficient with their sewing machine and its different basic functions; how to wind a bobbin, how to thread the machine, adjust tension, using different machine feet, and be more comfortable with general machine troubleshooting. Students will be able to generally understand woven fabrics. Finally, students will learn to be consistent in stitch quality and seam allowance, be familiar with how to handle fabric while constructing a garment, and be able to use sewing and fabric vocabulary. The class will move according to each students' ability with much help from your instructor.
The total price for the course $100 (Our online store format does not allow us to turn off sales tax for individual listings, so we have to take off the automatically added tax for the listing price). Also, supplies are not included in the price of the course. You are responsible for bringing your own sewing machine and supplies. Please make sure your sewing machine is in working order, since we do not have machines for rent.
Please read the full description and confirm the dates before signing up for the course. In the event that you must cancel, we accept cancellations up to one week before the start date of the class and you will receive a refund of 70% of the price of the course. After this time, you forfeit the cost of the class.
We do not schedule make‐up classes. If you are aware of conflicting dates, please let us know ahead of time and we can let you know if you will still be able to follow the course even if you have to miss a class.
You will receive an email with further instructions and a list of needed supplies from the teacher at least 5 days prior to the beginning of the course. The email will be sent to the address associated with your PayPal account.
