Adult Sewing Camp w/ Cassie Bryant
June 19-23, 2017
Monday - Friday, 9am-12pm
Rev up your sewing skills and your summer wardrobe in one week! In this intensive class, you will learn to draft an A-line skirt from your measurements that fits you perfectly. Everyone will learn how to finish seams, insert an invisible zipper, insert a lining, and attach a waistband. After completing your first skirt, you can sew as many more as you like in the available time. The instructor will be there to help you embellish your skirt with interesting pockets, piping, pin tucks, and decorative stitching, or whatever else your imagination comes up with.
A basic supply list will be distributed to registered participants. This class is suitable for anyone with some basic sewing experience.
The total price for the course $158 (Our online store format does not allow us to turn off sales tax for individual listings, so we have to take off the automatically added tax for the listing price). Fabric and sewing supplies are not included. Students will need to bring their own sewing machines.
Please read the full description and confirm the dates before signing up for the course. In the event that you must cancel, we accept cancellations up to one week before the start date of the class and you will receive 70% of the price of the course. After this time, you forfeit the cost of the class.
Once payment is accepted, you will receive an email with further instructions from our teacher before the beginning of the course. The email will be sent to the address associated with your PayPal account.
Cassie fell in love with sewing as a young girl and has carried the passion for stitching throughout her life. As much time as she can get away with she devotes to constructing her own clothes, either adapting commercial patterns or starting with a sketch of her own design. She's a self-described "selfish sewer," (Translation: "Don't come asking me to whip up your Halloween costume!") but will enthusiastically help others develop their sewing skills. She serves on the Board of the Young Designers Sewing Program and volunteers weekly with this non-profit after-school program helping kids learn to design and sew. Cassie is always learning something new about sewing. Currently, her aspirations include classic tailoring, vintage-style men's workwear, and sewing delicate lingerie.
